This week’s match report comes to us from Jack. 

In January we took a trip up to Oxford for our league match against Oxford Hoops. The team included Sean, Jack, Youssef, Johnathan, Ben, Julian, Yahya, Temi, Joe, and Kai. Thomas was on the sideline as he was injured (but helped with the photos).

In the first quarter we took a while to get going on points but after we scored then we took more control over the game. We beat Oxford in a tight first quarter by 15-8 with some hard drives by Sean.

In the second quarter more things clicked into gear, as we outscored them by 16 points. Seven of them came from Youssef, who was using his strength in the paint to get fouls and score free throws. Jack made a nice swish from an assist by Ben.

In the third quarter we stretched our lead further, outscoring Oxford by 12 points. Eight of them came from Julian, who was quick to pounce on any opportunity, while Sean also scored his first 3-pointer of the game to increase the lead.

In the final quarter both teams stepped up their game for an intense finish. With a total score of 87-42, the Blackhawks won once again. An outstanding performance by Julian who got six blocks in total and scored many points.
